St. Matthew, Chapter 23, verses: 9; One Father.

Our paragraph topic is:  (Hypocrisy of the Scribes and Pharisees) Part 7.  
The Scribes and the Pharisees were worshipped in their day and time.  They were thought to be high priest by the people because of the way they carried themselves and the respect they demanded.  Yet Christ wanted the people to know that their worship of the Scribes and the Pharisees was wrong and out of place.  

There was only one person that they should worship and he is in heaven.  There is only one master whom they should show respect and that is the Christ.  One is the Father and there is not one else.  No one should not be placed above the One Father.  He told them:  "And call no one on earth your father; for one is your Father, who is in heaven."  

What is the difference?  Why the distinction?  Christ helped the people to understand the true meaning of Father in the highest and greatest expectation of the word.  For we have but one.  All others are less than and do not deserve the highest connection with the title of Father.
We call our male parents father.  We call our priest father out of respect for their spiritual position as shepherds of the people.  We give the title to those who have gone before us and have been a part of our heritage.  But not one deserves the highest meaning and understanding of the word than our Father the creator.  One should not confuse this distinction.  And this is the understanding that Christ wanted the people to know.

For they praised the Scribes and the Pharisees.  They worshipped them as though they were indeed the lords of all knowledge and understanding without having any knowledge of the true Father in heaven, a concept that we must not confuse today.  We call our leaders in different fields of study father i.e., father of physics, or father of modern medicine, or father of aviation, because they were the first to discover principles in certain fields of study.  And we revere them because of their knowledge and expertise in their field.

It is important that we realize that we are all brothers and sisters created in the image and likeness of the One.  He alone is the object of our praise.  For from him and through him and with him we have life.  Without him we are nothing.  He is our be all and end all and with him we have everlasting peace that surpasses all understanding.

St. Matthew, Chapter 22, verse: 9; The public invited.

Our paragraph topic is:  (The king's anger) Part 4.  

The king will not be deterred from his celebration.  He wanted to have a party.  He wanted others to enjoy his happiness, his joy.  He had invited those that he thought were worthy.  But they thought otherwise of the king.  They apparently did not like the king.  They must have hated him.  They had contempt and animosity for him because they killed the messengers. But despite all that, he would not be deterred from this celebration.

So the king continued to make preparations for this celebration.  He told his servants:  Go therefore to the crossroads, and invite to the marriage feast whomever you shall find."  And so it was that the king would invite all that would come and celebrate with him and his son.  It would be a grand occasion.  All would enjoy the music and the dancing and the food and the drinks for this happy occasion.  And the king would be happy to see such joy in the people.

What does this say to us today?  Would we like to go to the kings party?  Would we like to be one of those invited to come?  Go to the crossroads, go to the major intersections, shout it from the rooftops, tell everyone you know.  Post it on Facebook, take pictures and show them on Instagram so everyone would know of the celebration.  All will be invited and all will be welcomed at the party.

Will you come?  Will you be there with everyone else?  It will be the talk of the town.  But this is different from the parties that we know of today.  There will be no drugs.  There will be no strip dancers.  No guns allowed.  Proper attire only.  This will be the celebration of the year, of the century because this is the message that Christ wants all to understand about the kingdom of heaven.  His father is having a party and he wants all to be invited.

Don't miss out!  Don't hesitate!  You are given the notice well in advance of the event so that you will have enough time to prepare, to get ready,  to become worthy of the event.  There are those who say they are not going.  There are those who do not believe that it is worth their time.  There are those who hate the king and would persuade you that you are not worthy to attend.  Do not be persuaded by those who would turn you away from the party of the century, the party that is yours to attend.  The decision is yours to make.  Do not let someone else make it for you.  The doors are open for all to attend.  Put on your party outfit and come join the party!

St Matthew, Chapter 20, verse: 9, The Call of the Laborers: payment to last.

Part 12.  

The time has now come for reward.  All the laborers are called to receive their payment for their labors.  Some have worked from the beginning of the day through the heat and blaring sun.  Some have only worked an hour.  And the last that were called have hardly worked at all.  And now comes the time for reward, the time for payment, the time for the end of the contract.

Christ is telling this parable to his disciples and to those today who are reading his words.  There is a message.  There is a lesson.  There is enlightenment that comes with an inner understanding of the living word.  Who will understand?  Who will receive the message?  Who will be enlightened by the words that are given to us today, passed down through the centuries of written text.  The spirit will open the hearts of the chosen that they may see and understand.  "Now when they of the eleventh hour came, they received each a denarius."

The eleventh hour has come.  The time for reckoning has come.  The time when all work ends.  The time for judgment comes.  What will you receive?  What will I receive?  Only the judge knows.  Only the house-holder knows.  We can imagine that we have done good deeds in our lives.  We have tried to follow the commandments.  We have done all that was given of us to do.  What will we receive? 

We do not know of that which has not been given us.  We only know that which has been promised to us by Christ's words.  He has promised that he will be with us even to the ends of the world.  He has promised that he has gone to make a place for us in his father's house that has many mansions.  He has promised that he will not leave us orphaned that we will have the advocate that will come to us, to help us, to guide us, to protect us along the way.  He has told us not to be anxious, for the Father know of our needs.  And he has told us that if we love him and keep his commandments that we will be in him just as he is in the Father.

A denarius is what they received, those who were last.  A denarius is what they received, those who started to work at the eleventh hour.  A denarius is what they received, those who found work after waiting so long in the market place without giving up hope that they would find work.  Are we still hopeful?  Are we still faithful that we too will be found?  Do we still desire to find our work at the eleventh hour or have we given up in our search?

The eleventh hour comes soon for some.  The eleventh hour comes without warning for others.  The eleventh hour seems like it will never come and some would take time into their own hands and make the eleventh hour appear for their own purposes.  What will you do when the eleventh hour comes?  Will you be prepared?  Will you be ready? 

Remain hopeful and you will find your way.  Continue searching and you will find that which is yours.  Seek that which is real and meaningful and not that which is temporary, meaningless, and unfulfilling.  If your search is real and genuine, you will discover the truth that is waiting for you.  It knocks waiting for you to answer.  The voice from within calls you to know him.  Your heart knows the truth.  Open the door and receive your reward.
