St Matthew, Chapter 19, verse: 17b, God is good?

And behold there appeared a young man from nowhere with a question for Christ.  The young man was innocent.  He was perplexed.  He was without a sense of direction with this question that he sought to find an answer but the answer eluded his understanding.  The question was, what must one do to obtain the kingdom of heaven.  What must one say, or think, or behave, or be to assure that he would enter the kingdom of heaven.

Christ came into this world and preached to the people the coming of the kingdom of heaven.  He told them that they must repent and be renewed in the spirit.  He spoke to them of the old ways.  He spoke to them of the new ways that must come into play.  He spoke to them of attitudes, of behaviors, of love, of hate, of good and of evil.  He wanted them to know the truth of what was taking place here on earth.  He wanted them to see for themselves the light of life that was before them that they would know who they are.  And then comes this young man seeking knowledge of what was good.  And Christ told him:  "One there is who is good, and he is God."

The young man was filled with the question of what was good.  He was driven by the need to know what was good,  what was right, what was wrong, or what was bad.  And he sought the one person that he thought was good.  He placed a label upon that person who he thought was good.  So he called Christ the good master.  He asked Christ what good works must he perform to assure that he would attain the kingdom of heaven.  But deep within him was the unknown.  Within him was the innocence and the desire to fulfill.  Yet also within him was the slight tinge of evil that was hidden.  And Christ saw and corrected him that he would not be allowed to think that he was the source of all goodness.

Only one who is good and that is God our Father.  This is a statement that is true, in and of itself.  Yet our concept of God is not real.  Our concept of our heavenly Father is not tangible to us as the world is tangible, as our physical bodies are tangible, as our need for food, clothing and shelter is tangible.  For these are the things that occupy us.  These are the things that consume our daily consciousness.  These are the things that we strive to overcome, to obtain, to master, to assure that we have enough of.  And our Father is good.  Our Father is all powerful.  Our Father is protective.  Our Father is loving and merciful, and forgiving, and good.  But to our understanding this is not tangible to us as the world is tangible.  Or is it?

For our understanding tells us that we must provide for ourselves.  Our understanding tells us that we must be a success unto ourselves.  We are the be all and end all of who we are.  And this is how we are programed to think and believe and be in the world.  For is the world is good?  Is the world caring?  Is the world loving if we just embrace what it has to offer?  This is what we are told.  This is what we are given to believe.  This is what we love by and not by the goodness of our Father.  How deceived we are.  How misled we are.  How unknowing we are of the truth of who we are in Christ.  The truth will come to you.  The truth will knock at your door.  The truth will set you free.  The truth will open the eyes of your heart and fill it with the love of the Father so much so that nothing else on earth can compare.  All you have to do is open your heart and accept what the Father has to offer.  He offers love!  Open up and let him in.  God is good.

St Matthew, Chapter 19, verse: 4, The Creator made them male and female.

Our paragraph topic is:  (The question of divorce) Part 2. 

The question of divorce, what does it mean.  By definition divorce means: a judicial declaration dissolving a marriage in whole or in part, especially one that releases the marriage partners from all matrimonial obligations.  Where did this idea of marriage come from?  Where did it originate?  Marriage by definition means: any of the diverse forms of interpersonal union established in various parts of the world to form a familial bond that is recognized legally, religiously, or socially, granting the participating partners mutual conjugal rights and responsibilities.

So now we have an established union for marriage and a judicial declaration for divorce.  Christ instructed the Pharisees on this question and it's origin.  He wanted them to understand its origin and why it came to be.  He said to them: ''Have you read , that the Creator from the beginning, made them male and female?" 

From the beginning they were made different.  From the beginning the Creator made us different.  We were conceived in the mind of God our Father as male and female.  For there was a purpose.  There was a cause.  There was a reason for the different vessels that we inhabit.  Our goal, our mission, our existence is based upon what God created us for.  Yet his creation was given free choice, free will, the freedom to change.  And with that freedom came disobedience.  And with disobedience came into the world right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, sin and death.

Our Father made it so, from the beginning.  We decided to make it otherwise through judicial declarations in our own eyes, disregarding the purpose of God.  And so it has been down through the ages.  Why do we marry?  Why do we live together?  What is the purpose of it all?  We are given to believe that this is the norm, this is natural, this is the accepted way.  This is how we are raised from birth.  We are given the thoughts of man, the thoughts of the world and not the thoughts of God, our Father.  We are given the world and all that is within it and not given the spirit and all that awaits us. 

We are spiritual beings living temporarily in the physical form.  Do we know?  Do we understand?  Do we believe who we are?  Science has not told us so.  Education has not taught us how to find the spirit or even, that we have one.  On the contrary our education denies that we are spiritual beings.  Our world teaches us that we are material, flesh and blood, and not of a spiritual nature.  Our world supports the belief of the physical realm and not that of the spiritual.  Yet we exist, we live, and we die  And then we are unsure of our spiritual transformation to the true state of who we are.

But with knowledge we can come to know who we are.  With insight we can understand the true nature of the spirit being of who we are.  With the gift from the Holy Spirit we can begin to awaken from the sleep of the world that has been given to us since our birth.  And with that awakening we see the truth of ourselves and the majesty and glory of God our Father.  For he has given us purpose.  He has given us life.  He has given us the word.  God's plan comes through the knowledge of who we are in Christ.  And with this knowledge can we begin to know the truth of why the Creator made us male and female.  It is not the divorce for any cause but the bonding for a cause.  It is the knowledge of the spirit that eliminates divorce completely and brings us back to the will of God Our Father.  Do you know?  Can you understand?  He made us male and female.  He put us together for a purpose and the spirit, not the world, will guide us according to the will of God.

St Matthew, Chapter 18, verse:4, Pride vs Humility.

Christ told them that they had to turn.  He told them that they had to change.  He told them that they were in the wrong place and that they had to leave that place and get to another place.  Satan was in their midst and had persuaded them to come to his place.  He influenced them to think about the future, to think about themselves, to think about fame and fortune and greatness.  He influenced them to think about all those things that were of this world and not of the spiritual world of heaven.  Satan wanted to turn them around, to turn them away from Christ.

Christ told them that they had to turn away from where they were.  He told them that they had to see what was needed to enter into the kingdom of heaven and that ambition would not lead them there.  Just as a child had no ambition, so the disciples had to become.  Just as a child had no desires, so the disciples had to become.  Just as a child was full of joy and wonder, so the disciples had to become.  Just as a child was humble, so the disciples had to turn away from pride and become humble.  Christ told them: "Whoever, therefore, humbles himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven".

Christ gave the disciples an example to follow.  He showed them the humility of a little child that they would know true humility.  Here they could refer back to this example and remember what they saw and what they felt to know who would be the greatest.  This is a simple example for us to follow if we can.  We live in a world filled with examples of how not to be humble.  We ware fed through all our senses the world's view of how we should live, how we should think and how we should be.  Humility is not a part of what the world teaches us.  Humility is not a part of what we see in the world.  Humility is not a part of what we believe today.

Yet Christ tells us that to be like a child is the key to entering the kingdom of heaven.  How can we do this?  How can we turn from the world and espouse humility?  How can we practice this principle in a world that presents everything to the contrary?  It all starts with the knowledge of who you are in Christ.  What knowledge is this? 

God, our father, created man in his image.  He created man and woman in his likeness as  spiritual beings and not physical beings.  God is not a man.  God is not a physical being.  God is not of this earth.  And yet we are created in the image of our God.  We are spiritual beings and not physical beings.  We belong to the spiritual world and not to the physical world.  Our life and our light comes from the light that was given back to us by the sacrifice made by Christ. 

Christ is the most humble of all.  He gave up his power, his majesty, his glory to become a physical man to save us from destruction.  And it is through his humility that we have life today as spiritual beings not physical beings.  The body dies, decays, and returns to dust.  But the spirit is eternal in Christ, if we choose it to be.  It is our choice. 

It is only that we do not know who we are that we follow the principles and precepts of the world.  For with the knowledge of the light of Christ we know who we are and we can see ourselves as we truly are in him.  Christ gave us the way.  He told us what to do.  He created the path to follow, the path to discover the joy and the peace and the happiness that is ours to have, if we choose. 

Follow the path that is before you.  See the light that is within you.  Know the truth of who you are and the world will no longer have a hold over you.  For you are a child of God, your father, and he will provide.  He will protect.  He will love you as no other can love.  Christ knocks at the door.  Open it!
